Professor Dr. Kerstin Schneider earned her M.A. in Economics at the University of Georgia, USA in 1990. In 1993, she completed her Ph.D. studies in Economics at the University of Georgia, USA. From 1994 to 2000, she was an assistant professor in the Department of Public Finance of Prof. Dr. Wolfram F. Richter, Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Dortmund. She did her habilitation in 2001 at the University of Dortmund. From 2001 to 2004, she was an academic councilor at the Department of Public Finance at the University of Dortmund. From 2003 to 2004 she was at the Chair for the Department of Finance and Taxation at the Department of Economics at the University of Wuppertal. Since 2004, she has held the Chair for the Department of Finance and Taxation at the Department of Economics at the University of Wuppertal.
